  • Retired securities broker Dorothy Lyas wanted to help but didn’t know how. Neighbors in Need gave Dorothy a concrete way to support a range of groups that she can trust.

  • Jackie and David Marlin have always been givers. They supported Neighbors in Need because they knew their dollars would go where they would do the most good.

  • After 30 years living in the Washington DC area, tax attorney Julie Davis didn’t realize the terrible need that existed right in her own neighborhood. Now she does and she is working to make her giving have an impact.




People from around the region, and from all walks of life, have stepped up to help their neighbors during this difficult time by contributing to The Neighbors in Need Fund. In the process, our "community of givers" have deepened their connections to the place they call home, while continuing to support the work of The Community Foundation to support the region in good times and in bad.
