2013!! It almost doesn't seem possible. In fact I can remember, like it was yesterday, the mad dash to get everything in order in preparation for the "big Y2K" issues that were certain to cripple most business systems. Well, that was then and this is now. And I think those of us that count ourselves as philanthropists of have the honor of working in philanthropy have much to be proud of.
Community Foundation Donor Gifts Over 1,600 Circus Tickets to Low-Income Children
The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region—through a generous donation from an anonymous supporter—invited over 1,600 low-income children and family members to see the Big Apple Circus on Sunday, September 23. (The donor bought out the entire Big Top for the festivities.) Tickets to the event were distributed to non-profits in the DC metro area that serve children and families, including homeless shelters, foster care groups, afterschool programs, and those who work to prevent domestic violence.
