Give to the Max Day
Community Foundation Joined Razoo and United Way to Help Raise $2 Million For Washington Area Nonprofits The first ever Give to the Max Day: Greater Washington on November 9, 2011 was an incredible success, engaging more than 17,000 people in the Washington region to donate more than $2 million to local nonprofits. The 24 hour event featured more than 1,300 nonprofit organizations as well as individuals doing personal fundraisers, many of whom exceed their online fundraising goals. Winner of the $25,000 award for most funds raised was For Love of Children and winner of the $25,000 award for most donors contributing was Little Lights Urban Ministries. Supporting the effort was a broad array of community partners from 8 Neighbors, an alliance of leadership groups from business, government and the nonprofit sector: Center for Nonprofit Advancement, Greater Washington Board of Trade, Leadership Greater Washington, Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington and the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers . . |
