Our President & CEO

Dear Friends of The Community Foundation,

As your community foundation, we believe in the power of community for everyone. We take great pride in our mission to lead, mobilize, and ignite the power of philanthropy to build an equitable, just, and thriving region where every person prospers.

This past year tested our resolve in new ways, as federal actions threatened our region's nonprofit sector and impacted thousands of lives across DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. But this Community Foundation, and our incredibly generous community of fundholders and partners, has been united and undaunted in our response.

Together with our donors and partners, we distributed more than $130 million in grants– the highest annual grant payout in our organization’s history. This report celebrates what we accomplished together and features stories demonstrating how we have collectively stepped up to serve our community during fiscal year 2026 (April 2025 – March 2026) and beyond.
