In addition to celebrating all we have accomplished together, we were proud to honor Mary Pat Alcus as the 2023 Montgomery County Philanthropist of the Year.

Mary Pat Alcus
Mary Pat Alcus is a strategic thinker and generous philanthropist who leverages her 30 years of knowledge and experience as an institutional investment advisor and a Chartered Financial Analyst to help her favorite organizations grow and pursue bold goals. After moving to Montgomery County with her family in 2002, she dove head and heart first into learning about her local community and giving to organizations empowering people to pursue their pathways out of poverty. Having discovered that she and her husband Darren were most passionate about helping kids succeed, they focused their philanthropy on high-impact nonprofits that help children and young adults fulfill their potential, such as Horizons Greater Washington and Montgomery College.
The Community Foundation is grateful to Mary Pat for setting an inspiring example of what’s possible when one is committed to building communities where all people can reach their full potential.
