For more than 45 years, the Greater Washington Community Foundation has been a champion of thriving communities and a catalyst for community change made possible through local philanthropic engagement, effective community investment, and civic leadership.

Applying deep community knowledge, expertise and insight to help donors develop and carry out charitable giving plans in pursuit of their passions. We identify the right opportunities, community needs, and effective solutions for donors to invest in.

Building a permanent, stable funding source to ensure the region's nonprofits can respond to today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges. With annual grants of more than $75 million, we support a diverse range of issues from affordable housing to the arts, education, job training, and social services.
